Bon Voyage: Vacation scams

According to my husband, I tend to trust people — within reason — until they give me a reason not to trust them. This has worked well for me. I have good friends and I've seldom been disappointed. But my attitude reverses when I turn on my computer or answer the phone.

I receive quite a few phone calls, letters and emails promising fabulous vacations. There are travel deals out there, but so are opportunists who want to take advantage of people's vacation dreams. I don't consider a travel deal unless the seller gives me good reason to trust them. ...
