Bon Voyage: Bed of a truck ...

Ten years ago, I met a big friendly dog wandering near my office on College View Drive. I called the number on his collar. His owner, halfway to Lassen Peak, was unaware his dog had jumped out of the back of his truck. When he returned for the fugitive, he said he'd never adopt a dog too small to jump into the bed of a pickup by itself.

It's wonderful to take your dog on vacation, but bringing Fido home safely may involve more than just letting him jump into a truck bed. ...
